Patrimônio

Since mid-30's, when Ilha do Retiro was purchased, "red-and-black" chairmen dreamed with an own monumental home, meaning the greatness of the club. It was necessary to retire the old cottage house. They even made a project and started construction, but most part of the chairmen considered that the home wasn't good enough. The part whch was done became a gymnasium.

Later, in the 50's, this question came back with strenght. It was constructed a home in downtown Recife, called "Aluminum Palace", to present the project of a future home. There were sold gifts, keyrings, jerseys, pennants, all related with 50th anniversary of Sport. Rozemblit (a chairman) worked hard to do a strong squad, supervisioned by President Adelmar da Costa Carvalho.

To face an expensive project but worhty to the club, it was formed a high-level comission, called "Comissão Pró-Sede", composed by expressive people of Recife society, all Sport Recife fans, of course. Most part of them stading out in public administration, commerce, industry, etc. This comission, in fact, made feasible the necessary funds to raise the current home of Sport, a joint with social home, pools, tennis courts, gymnasiums, dancing room, aerobic hall, museum, etc. It was an independent entity, . The comission, as a matter of fact, worked with pledge and severity. Nor a cent was used to another destiny except to raise money for the home. This rigidity caused discontent, especially among football's chairmen, which always need help, alleging that footballl is the cenerpiece of hte club. No way, money was denied. Just for an ocasion, the comission did a single loan, approved by Amândio Rodrigues Portugues trader and a legend at Sport Recife.

But this rigidity and determination leaded Sport to have this enviable property nowadays. So, it's indispensable to quote the members of this comission: Mário Pinto de Carvalho, doctor; engineer Marcelino Lopes and João Campelo.
